Some positive news with job postings in April.

That from the Labour Market Group (LMG) which reports 291 job postings that month in Nipissing District.

LMG says that’s a ‘notable increase’ of nine percent compared to March.

It’s also a 72 percent increase from the same month in 2020.

“This suggests the labour market is starting an upward swing as vaccination measures increase”, says The Labour Market Group in its monthly jobs report.

Officials also say the district continues to see COVID-19 affected months under-performing historical averages.

April 2021 was about 18 percent below the five-year average for that month.

The top five hiring industries in April were Healthcare and Social Assistance, Manufacturing, Retail Trade, Administrative & Support, Waste Management

& Remediation Services, and Construction.
