Approximately 70 people attended a “Freedom Rally” at the North Bay waterfront on Monday.
This is the sixth time the group has rallied in recent weeks to protest provincial lockdowns and restrictions.
None were wearing masks.
Under the current restrictions, residents are asked to gather outdoors in groups with a maximum of five people.
Prior to this event the North Bay Police Service issued a total of 31 tickets and served 7 summons to individuals for violations of the Reopening Ontario Act.
Police identified those involved and issued charges at their homes.
Officials say officers entering a crowd to lay charges risk physical confrontations and the spread of COVID-19 to police and members of the public.
The North Bay Police Service encourages everyone to follow the stay-at-home order and COVID-19 public health guidelines, including practicing physical distancing and wearing a mask.
