Six people will be receiving honorary degrees from Nipissing University this year. They include Coach4Food’s Tom Hedican, who is receiving an honorary doctorate of Education. Hedican provides professional coaching to youth in town in exchange for food donations to local food programs.
Others being honoured include OPP Commissioner Vince Hawkes, , Edmund Metatawabin, Graeme Murray, Susan Nelles Pine and Dr. Colin Simpson with honorary degrees.
The graduation ceremonies run from June 10th to 12. They take place at the Robert J Surtees Student Athletics Centre.
