WN council approves 2021 budget

The average homeowner will see an annual increase of $37 on their tax bill.

On Tuesday, West Nipissing council approved the $33,325,900 budget, which represents a tax levy increase of 2.00%.

Council met ten times throughout March and April, ironing out various details of the budget.

Alisa Craddock, the municipality’s treasurer, wrote in a memo to staff stating operating challenges were mitigated this year through a transfer of prior year surpluses (over $720,000) and renewed COVID-19 funding from the provincial government.
