An arson investigation is underway in French River. 

Yesterday morning OPP officers and the Office of the Chief Fire Marshall began the investigation on a seasonal residence on Turenne Road. 

The OPP is seeking assistance from the community. 

Provincial Constable Robert Lewis says the French River Fire Department responded to the fire at 1am. The residence was unoccupied the time. The fire was extinguished with extensive damage to the property. 

Police say the investigation has revealed the fire was started by someone.
