Positive COVID-19 case at White Woods Public School

An individual from White Woods Public School has tested positive for COVID-19.

That’s according to the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit, who says the individual was at school during their infectious period. The Health Unit is asking members of the Grade 8 cohort to self-isolate.

“The individual boarded the #52 Alouette Bus Lines route on April 8,” says the Health Unit.  “Which also serves students from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Elementary School and Northern Secondary School. The individuals from bus route #52 are already required to self-isolate due to a case at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Elementary School. However, at this time there is no confirmed link between the cases and they travelled on the bus on different days. Case management and contact tracing are ongoing.”

An outbreak has not been declared, and the Health Unit is working closely with the school and Near North District School Board to ensure all high-risk contacts are contacted.
