Ontario reports over 2,000 new COVID-19 cases for sixth straight day

Ontario is reporting justĀ over 2,300 new COVID-19 cases.
The province added 2,336 cases on Tuesday with seventy-nine per cent in the hot spots around the GTHA and Ottawa.
It’s the sixth day in a row Ontario has recorded over 2,000 cases.
Another 14 people have died bringing the province’s death toll to 7,351.
The recovery rate has dropped to 92 per cent.
Test positivity, the percentage of tests coming back positive, is at 6.2 per cent which is the highest it’s been sinceĀ late January.
Over 36,000 tests were done over the last 24 hours.
Public Health Ontario says 52 per cent of positive cases screened positive for a variant of concern.
There were close to 1,100 people in Ontario hospitals due to COVID-19, the highest number since early February.
