A veterinarian in North Bay wants city council’s help to ensure protocols are followed when a dog needs to be put down. Doctor Kristina Kankaras was reacting to a 19 month old Husky being euthanized without the owner’s knowledge or consent. Zombie was under quarantine and Kankaras says she wasn’t allowed to see him when he became ill. She says shortly afterward Zombie was euthanized. Kankaras wants council to talk to the health unit to make sure protocols are followed when animals are put down. The health unit says procedures were followed.
