If you wanted to go for a swim, you’re gonna have to wait a little longer.
That’s according to the municipality who shared it will be postponing the opening of the Fitness Centre and Pool until further notice.
“Plans are underway to utilize the Community and Recreation Centre as a vaccination site in the coming weeks. While this news may be disappointing to members that were looking forward to using the pool and gym next week, it is a great step forward for our community. We anticipate that the closure will be in place for at least a few weeks. An update will be provided closer to the reopening of the facilities,” wrote the municipality in a release.
For almost a year now, the West Nipissing Emergency Control Group has met on a weekly basis to develop emergency plans and ensure the safety of the community. This team of officials and key partners met by video call on Wednesday, to provide updates on the local situation of COVID-19 and discuss the planning for vaccination sites.
