North Bay councillors have gone against a committee report and will allow a business to erect a third party sign promoting other businesses on the side of its building. The business is Image Master and the vote was 7-4. One opponent is Chris Mayne who believes the very nature of the sign creates a distraction for motorists on Trout Lake Road. But it’s not an argument other councillors buy. One of the supporters was Mike Anthony. Although Image Master is in a residential zone, Anthony says there’s nothing residential about the business and doubts similar signs will pop up in other residential neighbourhoods. Images on the sign will change about every three minutes. The business is located on Trout Lake Road just off Highway 11 and 17.
