The Ontario chamber of commerce says the Ring of Fire will generate up to $9.4 billion over the first ten 10 years of its life. And by 2047 that number could hit $25-billion as the massive chromite find spins off other projects. The Ontario chamber says the Ring of Fire’s impact reaches well beyond mining because of all the spin offs it will help create. The chamber says what the Ring of Fire means for the provincial government is nearly two billion dollars in the first decade of operation. Business groups say it’s time to include all of Ontario in the Ring of Fire debate and they want governments to invest in the discovery.
