The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 this afternoon.
The cases are split between the Nipissing and Parry Sound Districts.
One case is in a person between the ages of 40 and 59 and the cause is still under investigation.
The other case is in a person aged 20 to 39 as the result of close contact.
There are now 23 active cases of COVID-19 in the region, 18 of which are in the Nipissing District.
One person is in hospital.
18 out of 24 people infected as part of the Lancelot Apartment COVID-19 outbreak may have a variant of the virus.
The Health Unit provided an update on the situation Thursday afternoon.
The agency states 18 people associated with the outbreak have preliminary positive results of a variant strain.
The Lancelot outbreak has infected 19 residents and five visitors.
