West Nipissing council wants province to stop Hydro rate increase

West Nipissing council is circulating a motion to other communities asking the Liberals to stop Hydro One from increasing electricity rates.  The National Energy Board approved a rate increase of 97 cents more a month for Hydro One.  But council says Ontario already pays the highest rates in the country and it will only get worse.  With rates set to increase by 42 percent over the next five years, council says that will create hardships and a negative economic impact.  West Nipissing council wants the Wynne Liberals to look at buying power elsewhere, like from Quebec, to help bring down Ontario’s costs.
