A cluster of COVID-19 cases has been identified.
The cases have no connection with each other, other than being in the same apartment building and the individuals are unknown to each other.
The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit says due to the small number of individuals testing positive for COVID-19 in their district, this raises concern.
“This is especially worrying as one of the people who tested positive had a preliminary confirmation of a COVID-19 Variant of Concern.” the agency wrote in a release earlier today.
To prevent spread in the community, the Health Unit, and the North Bay Regional Health Centre’s Assessment Centre, are offering on-location COVID-19 testing to residents of the building.
The agency is also asking residents of the building to self-isolate until they receive a negative test.
