The West Nipissing Foodbank is over $24, 000 dollars richer thanks to the community.
Foodbank president, Don Clendenning, received the donation Friday afternoon from Metro.
The grocery stored raised the money from mid-November to the end of December, by asking clients to make a monetary donation at check out. It was part of Metro’s Community Spirit Like No Other campaign, which saw $1.43 million raised for Ontario for COVID-19 relief by the company.
Clendenning says the generosity from the community is nothing short of amazing, and the money will enable the food bank to keep feeding those who need it.
Foodbank days are on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
