North Bay business denied third party sign

Image Master in North Bay has lost an application to erect an LED sign on the side of its building to promote other businesses.  The vote at the committee level was 3-1 with only Mike Anthony supporting the proposal.  Anthony supports the measure because similar signs are already in place in other parts of town.  However, mayor Al McDonald is worried about setting a precedence.  Image Master is a business in a residential zone and McDonald believes other businesses in residential zones could try and do the same thing.  But, Image Master owner Chris Ricci says his signs are too expensive for similar signs to pop up in other parts of the city.  The issue goes to a full council vote next Monday.
