The West Nipissing will be receiving over $600 000 from the provincial government for infrastructure projects.
The money comes through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund, which gives infrastructure funding to small, rural and northern Ontario communities with less than 100,000 people. Over $200 million is being invested by the provincial government overall.

The funding is calculated using a formula to determine how much each municipality gets.
