UPDATE 2 : North Bay man charged with arson

UPDATE #2 12:35 pm: Police are reporting that a 50-year-old North Bay man, who was arrested at the scene this morning, has been charged with;
One count of Arson (Damage to Property); and
One count of Breach of a Release Order.
He remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse on Monday.

The North Gate Shopping Centre Facebook page said it will open today.

UPDATE 10:00 am: The North Bay Police Service released information regarding this morning’s fire. They say an active criminal investigation is underway into the cause of the fire, and they have one adult person in custody at this time. Police are asking anyone with relevant information or relevant video on their mobile phone to contact them at 705-497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to a police officer.

Police are investigating another fire at the Northgate Shopping Center.
Fire services received the call shortly before 4 this morning. It was in the mall’s south entrance.
The fire appears to have been around the entrance doors under the parking garage.
The investigation is on-going.
It’s the second fire at the mall in only a matter of weeks.
