Three Dokis First Nation people are facing drug-trafficking charges.
Nipissing West OPP says on December 3, OPP and Anishnabek Police Service officers searched a home on Subdivision road in Dokis First Nation.
Officers found over $5000 in cash, as well as approximately $8000 in suspected fentanyl.
A 56-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman have been charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA); and
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).
A 26-year-old was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC;
Failure to Comply with Release Order contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC; and
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid contrary to section 4(1) of the CC.
All accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
