Cache Bay man charged after police chase

A 49-year-old Cache Bay man is facing impaired and drug possession charges.

Nipissing West OPP says that on Sept. 13 before midnight, they received several traffic complaints regarding a possible impaired driver travelling west on Highway 17, west of North Bay.

Officers say they observed the vehicle on the highway and attempted to stop it just east of Sturgeon Falls, but the driver failed to stop. They then attempted to perform a tandem stop but the vehicle swerved onto the shoulder and continued to flee. Officers then terminated the pursuit.

Not long after, police located the driver sitting in the vehicle, parked on his property in Cache Bay. He was then arrested.
