A Sturgeon Falls man is facing charges after he killed his roommate’s kitten.
OPP is reporting that on Aug. 20 officers responded to an animal cruelty complaint at a resident on Nipissing St. in Sturgeon Falls.
Investigation revealed two people were involved in a verbal argument which escalated and resulted in one person killing their roommate’s kitten and leaving the scene.
The officers located and arrested the accused.
As a result, a 40-year-old was charged with:
Killing or Injuring Animals, contrary to section 445(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);
Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA); and
Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Other Drugs, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA.
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 1 in Sturgeon Falls.
