Health Unit releases back to school guide

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has released its guide for back to school.

COVID-19 and School Reopening – Public Health Information for Families answers public health questions that many parents or guardians may have for their child’s return to school.

The guide is broken down into 15 topics like physical distancing, transportation, extracurricular activities, and Health Unit services.

It comes after weeks of work between the Health Unit, schools, and school boards within the district.

The Health Unit says that it is important to note, however, that the status of COVID-19 is always changing, and recommendations within the guide may change over time.

It’s available at: myhealthunit.ca/COVID-19SchoolsGuide.

The topic of outbreak management is still foggy, as both the Health Unit and school boards are waiting for guidance from the Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Health. They do say, however, that they will provide the community with the information as it becomes available.
