OPP says that on August 22, members of the Nipissing West detachment attempted to stop a motorcycle travelling at an ‘extremely’ high rate of speed on Highway 17 in Verner, driving 170km/h in a 90 zone. The driver failed to stop for police and fled.

The officers patrolled the area and located the motorcycle, abandoned at the dead-end of Leclaire Road.

The Canine Unit, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, as well as the Emergency Response Team were all deployed to assist the investigation. The canine unit located the accused hiding in the bush.
