OPP execute search warrant, seize approx. $14,700 in drugs

Nearly $15,000 of drugs are off of the West Nipissing streets.

OPP is reporting that on Aug. 19, shortly before midnight, the OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit and Nipissing West Detachment officers executed a search warrant at a rental unit on Front Street in Sturgeon Falls.

OPP says that they seized a number of drugs suspected to be: Fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine and Cocaine along with drug paraphernalia and over $1100 in Canadian currency. The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $14,700.

A 32-year-old Noëlville woman was charged with:

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine (two counts), contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA); and
Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Other Drugs, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA.
She is scheduled to appear at the Sturgeon Falls court on Oct. 1.

A 35-year-old St. Clair Township man was charged with:

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking -Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA;
Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine (two counts), contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA;
Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA; and
Possession Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 – in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the North Bay Court of Justice on August 24.
