WN OPP seize nearly $5,000 worth of drugs

Two Sturgeon Falls men have been arrested and charged following the execution of a search warrant.

Members of the OPP Community Street Crime unit, as well as the Nipissing West Detachment, executed the warrant at a residence on Front Street.

OPP says that officers removed a quantity of drugs suspected to be Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Cannabis Shake as well as drug paraphernalia, and over $1000 in Canadian currency.

The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $4,800.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old man was charged with

 

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA;

Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC); and

Alter the Chemical or Physical Properties of Cannabis by the Use of an Organic Solvent, contrary to section 12(1)(b) of the Cannabis Act.

 

A 43-year-old man was charged with

 

 Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA;

Alter the Chemical or Physical Properties of Cannabis by the Use of an Organic Solvent, contrary to section 12(1)(b) of the Cannabis Act; and

Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

Both of the accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in Bail Court today in North Bay.
