Tourism officer plans close for North Bay chamber

Things are looking good for the North Bay chamber of commerce to create a full-time tourism officer position.  Money for the Tourism Infrastructure Fund would come from a two percent fee hotels would charge per room.   Chamber president Jake Lacourse says the tourism fund, which is known as TIF for short, would get a pool of money from local hotels.  And Lacourse says agreements are almost in place with the hotels.  Lacourse says the tourism officer would be dedicated to the chamber and would develop new products.  He adds this should make a difference on how the area is promoted once the officer is in place.
