There’s been no official announcement but members of OPSEU in North Bay are worried that the Wynne Liberals will ship local IT jobs offshore or elsewhere. OPSEU told council last night the Liberals are moving to privatize many sectors during this term and believe it’s just a matter of time before the IT jobs in North Bay get hit. OPSEU believes before any jobs are lost an independent body should study the socio-economic impact and affected workers should have the chance to move with the jobs. In North Bay there are 200 IT workers located on First plus about 200 support and management staff.
