Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli will see if he can shed light on why Summer in the Park in North Bay was denied funding from Celebrate Ontario. Fedeli will raise the issue in the Legislature. The former North Bay mayor says not getting money from the province is not new to him. He says he ran into the same issue when he was mayor and the past Liberal member told him sometimes a community gets money and other times it doesn’t. The Summer in the Park committee also wants City Hall to ask why it wasn’t given money. The Celebrate Ontario grant would have been used to add a new attraction to the annual August long-weekend festival.
