Pea Soup was on the menu when looking at Lake Nipissing this past weekend

This past weekend brought a strong buildup of pollen on the shores of Lake Nipissing.
Making the water look like pea soup, the North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit says there isn’t a public health hazard.
“Once the pollen is waterlogged it will sink to the bottom of the water body,” said the health unit’s environmental team. “Pollen on the water is less likely to aggravate allergies than air-borne pollen. However, we do remind people, as we do with any recreational water (untreated water), do not ingest.”
