A family dispute ended with charges for one resident, according to the Nipissing West OPP.
Police say Monday evening they were called to a residence on Lisgar Street in Sturgeon Falls because of the dispute. The investigation showed that the accused had assaulted and threatened the victim, who sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials say while in custody, the accused then assaulted an officer and damaged a police cruiser.
As a result, a 49-year-old from Sturgeon Falls has been charged with:
- Assault
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Assault a Peace Officer
Police say the accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on Thursday.
