Conservation authority issues flood outlook

The North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Outlook for area streams.  It’s the result of rain, mixed with mild temperatures causing more snow to melt.  The outlook will remain in effect for 72 hours.  Adding to the problem is the ground is still frozen in many spots meaning water from melting snow isn’t easily absorbed into the ground.  Residents with homes by waterways need to watch for changing conditions.  The conservation authority is also telling parents to keep their kids and pets away from these areas because they are slippery and flowing very fast.
