The West Nipissing Food Bank has announced the return of food rescue.

Carole Renaud, the chair of the food bank says the service will return on June 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., however, there will be some restrictions in place. Food rescue will continue to run weekly on every Wednesday after it reopens.

Officials say only five people will be allowed inside the food bank at a time, and everyone must wear a mask. If you don’t have a mask, one will be provided to you. Only one member of each family will be allowed at a time, and you are discouraged from bringing children.

Officials add that food rescue is an initiative to rescue food that is near its best before expiry date.
