Nipissing West OPP says a report of a suspicious person turned into drug charges.
Police say they received a complaint of a suspicious person outside of a building on Front Street in Sturgeon Falls Friday morning. When officers arrived, they found the person asleep in a hallway. After a further investigation, they found the accused had a controlled substance and was arrested.
Officers say they seized a quantity of drugs believed to be fentanyl, which has an estimated street value of $500.
As a result, a 27-year-old from West Nipissing has been charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Opioid (other than heroin). They have since been released and will answer to charges on September 3 in West Nipissing.
