Local COVID-19 numbers stand at 26 positive, 20 resolved and one death

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is announcing the 26th positive case of COVID-19 in the area.

Health unit officials say the newest case is a man between the age of 60-79 and is hospitalized. The cause is listed as community spread.

Throughout the region, there are 26 positive cases, with 20 listed as resolved and one death. Four of the five active cases are self-isolating. Of the 26 cases, 19 are from the Nipissing District, and seven from the Parry Sound area.

There is one outbreak declared in a local long-term care home, which is Eastholme in Powassan.

There have been 5,952 tests conducted in the health unit’s catchment area.
