Poutine, Pints and Plaid raises money for Humane Society

The Rotaract Club of North Bay – Nipissing has announced its sixth annual Poutine, Pints, and Plaid event raised $7,000 for the North Bay and District Humane Society.

Officials say this year’s event, held in February, hosted 250 people for an evening of poutine, pints, games, and music.

“At the time we didn’t realize that Poutine, Pints and Plaid would be one of the last times a large group would be gathered together – at least for the foreseeable future – or the need for the funds raised would be as important as they are today,” said Brittany Chaput, Club President. “We are proud to support the North Bay and District Humane Society, especially as the financial need within our community is greater than ever.”

Each year the event has grown, and the hope is to continue the tradition in 2021.

“With the support of our sponsors we have been able to grow this event from roughly 80 attendees raising a total of $1,000 to today’s success of more than 250 attendees and $7,000 raised,” explains Valerie Edmunds, Poutine, Pints and Plaid Co-chair. “Although we don’t know what the future holds we hope that we will be able to continue to keep the Poutine, Pints and Plaid tradition alive in 2021.”
