Nipissing West OPP take drugs off the street

Nipissing West OPP says just under $20,000 worth of drugs have been taken off the streets thanks to a recent investigation.

Police say the investigation concluded Monday night when they arrested a suspect on Front Street in West Nipissing. Officers seized a quantity of drugs suspected to be Fentanyl and Crystal Methamphetamine along with a quantity of Canadian currency. The street value of the drugs is approximately $17,200.

As a result, a 32-year-old from West Nipissing has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

The accused has been released, but has a court date in West Nipissing on July 2.

The investigation was aided by the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit.
