The Auditor General and Ombudsman in Ontario are closer to getting more powers to oversee healthcare services. Those new powers are the result of a Bill creating more accountability in health services passing second reading. The MPP for Nickel Belt, France Gelinas, who is also the NDP’s health critic, developed the proposed law. Gelinas says we need to avoid more fiascos like the diluted chemo drug scandal and problems at Ornge, the air ambulance service.
