Sudbury man convicted of arson in major Espanola fire

A Sudbury man has been found guilty in connection with a major fire in Espanola two years ago.  A jury convicted Craig Hunda of arson causing property damage.  The jury also found Hunda guilty of aggravated assault but not guilty of arson for disregard of human life.  The 31-year-old has been on trial the last several weeks in Sudbury.  He’s been behind bars following a March 2012 fire which caused $1.8 million damage to two downtown buildings in Espanola.  Hunda will be sentenced at a later time.  Meanwhile the owner of the Espanola buildings faces arson charges in the same case but no date has been set for his trial.
