An assault at a residence Wednesday in Sturgeon Falls has led to charges for three people.

Nipissing West OPP says an altercation happened between five individuals, in which two people were assaulted by three wearing balaclavas.

One of those assaulted, a 22-year-old man, suffered stab wounds to his upper body, which police say are serious but non-life threatening. The other, a 29-year-old woman was pepper-sprayed, and her injuries are minor.

After an investigation, officials say two people were arrested, while an arrest warrant was issued for the third. The warrant was executed the next morning.
