A stop of a snowmobile has resulted in charges for a River Valley man.
Nipissing West OPP says on Sunday they saw the snowmachine on a trail approach the intersection of Highway 539. Once they stopped the vehicle, they discovered the operator had been consuming alcohol and failed a roadside test.
Further investigation showed the man was not allowed to operate a motorized vehicle.
The 56-year-old has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired -Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
- Operation While Prohibited Under Criminal Code
Police suspended his licence, and the snowmobile has been impounded for 45 days.
The accused has a Sturgeon Falls court date on April 6.
