Closures coming to West Nipissing

After closing the Sturgeon River House Museum, the Community and Recreation Centre and the Sturgeon Falls and Verner arenas, West Nipissing has shut the doors on more municipally-run buildings.

According to the municipality, all appointments at the Municipal Office with residents have been cancelled where possible, and communication will be done either electronically or via phone. Council meetings have also been postponed until further notice.

“When possible, please pay bills online, at banking machines or by dropping a cheque into the drop-box located at the front of the building,” according to a post on the West Nipissing website. “Tax due dates have been postponed to April 24 and May 22.”

All services and programs are suspended at all branches of the West Nipissing Public Library. The municipality adds, during the suspension, all late fees are forgiven.

However, waste and recycling pickup will continue to operate and landfills are open during regular business hours.

The Municipality of West Nipissing says for more information to call 705-753-2250 or email [email protected].
