OPP: alarm leads to charges for Sturgeon Falls resident

An alarm going off at a business on Queen Street tipped off Nipissing West OPP, resulting in charges for a Sturgeon Falls resident.

Officers say when they arrived, they noticed someone had forced their way into the Dollar Bazaar, and found the accused hiding in the basement area.

Police say they arrested them and recovered stolen money. They also seized a quantity of drugs suspected to be fentanyl.

The 30-year-old has been charged with:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000-in Canada
  • Break, Enter a Place-Commit Indictable Offence
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance-Opioid (other than heroin)

The accused has a court date on April 2 in Sturgeon Falls.
