Authorities seek information in dog’s death

A West Nipissing woman got more than she bargained for during a walk down Sandy Falls Road.

Posting on Buster’s Page, a popular Facebook site that helps lost pets find their way home, Sylvie Durette says she found a lifeless small white dog in a cardboard box. Around the box were other items such as dog toys, a dog bed, and rugs covered in feces.

The issue has been brought up to Nipissing West OPP and receipts were found among the discarded items that Durette hopes will lead to whoever left the pup.

The body has since been brought to North Bay for a necropsy to determine the cause of death.
