Nipissing West OPP laid their fifth impaired charge of 2020 on Thursday.
Officers say just before 2:00 p.m., they were called to a vehicle collision on Gingras Street in Sturgeon Falls. Once arriving, police say they believed the driver to be under the influence of drugs and took them to the North Bay Police Service station for further testing.
The 29-year-old from Sturgeon Falls was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
The driver was given a 90-day licence suspension and their vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
They have been released from custody with a court date set for March 5.
