Public elementary school students off due to strike

Local public elementary schools will be closed Wednesday as the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO) exercises a one-day full withdrawal of services (see list below).

Near North District School Board schools will be closed to JK to 8 students but will remain open and accessible to Grade 9-12 students.

ETFO has advised that members will not stop cars and will not detain secondary students nor people who are accessing the building for childcare.

All Early Years programs, childcare, school-aged programs and Early On Child and Family Centres will remain open. Community use of schools will run as usual.
