Man charged after pulling a gun and threatening a person

Pulling a gun and threatening a person has a Sturgeon Falls man facing a laundry list of charges.

On January 9th, police got a call about the disturbance at a home in Sturgeon Falls. Four days later, they executed a search warrant at a home, with help from the Northeast Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), the Northeast Region Support Team (NRST) and the OPP Canine (K9) Unit.

Officers say, on top of the arrest they took a number of drugs, suspected to be Methamphetamine (speed), along with some long guns and ammunition. The 49-year-old Sturgeon Falls man was charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death

He has since been released and will appear before court in Sturgeon Falls on March 5th.
