Callander Mayor Hec Lavigne has passed away.
Very few details are available on his passing at this time.
Lavigne had been Mayor of Callander since 2001.
North Bay Mayor Al McDonald heard of Lavigne’s passing and says he will be greatly missed in the region.
According to his Facebook page, Lavigne would have turned 63 next month.
He was a student at Algonquin Secondary School in the mid-’70s and attended Algonquin College in Ottawa.
