Over $6,000 in drugs taken off the streets, says police

North Bay Police Service has taken a large number of drugs off the streets.

Police say mid-December, the Street Crime Unit began an investigation that ended with officers receiving a search warrant to a home in the 500 block of Commercial Street.

The warrant led to police taking:

  • 2 grams of suspected purple fentanyl
  • 2 grams of suspected cocaine
  • $4040 in Canadian currency

The drugs that were taken have an estimated street value of over $6,000, according to police.

Officers say as a result of the seizure, two men were arrested. A 21 and 24 year old from Etobicoke was charged with:

  • Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

Both men remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
