Numerous break-ins keep North Bay OPP busy over Christmas period

OPP officers with the North Bay OPP detachment have been busy responding to a series of break, enters and thefts in different areas of their jurisdiction.

On December 27^th, OPP got word that thieves had broken into a number of boathouses on Promised Land Road in Nipissing Township and stole a number of items.

In one instance, the owner of one boathouse had two 2003 Skidoos stolen.

Investigators say one of the snowmobiles is a black Grand Touring sled and the other is a black with blue trim Skidoo Legend.

The other major theft took place in French Township where culprits stole diesel fuel from forestry equipment parked at a site.

Thieves first stole more than 300 gallons of fuel from the equipment sometime between December 20^th and Christmas Eve.

Then on either Boxing Day or December 27^th, another 400 gallons were removed from the equipment at the same site.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on either incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The information can net the anonymous informant up to $2,000 and the person does not have to testify in court.
