Numerous break-ins keep North Bay OPP busy over Christmas period

OPP officers with the North Bay OPP detachment have been busy responding to a series of break, enters and thefts in different areas of their jurisdiction.

On December 27th, OPP got word that thieves had broken into a number of boathouses on Promised Land Road in Nipissing Township and stole a number of items.

In one instance, the owner of one boathouse had two 2003 Skidoos stolen.

Investigators say one of the snowmobiles is a black Grand Touring sled and the other is a black with blue trim Skidoo Legend.

The other major theft took place in French Township where culprits stole diesel fuel from forestry equipment parked at a site.

Thieves first stole more than 300 gallons of fuel from the equipment sometime between December 20th and Christmas Eve.

Then on either Boxing Day or December 27th, another 400 gallons were removed from the equipment at the same site.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on either incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The information can net the anonymous informant up to $2,000 and the person does not have to testify in court.
