Hospice set for grand opening

After eight years of planning and work, the Nipissing Serenity Hospice is set to open its doors on January 11.

The hospice will celebrate with a ribbon-cutting and open house that will begin at 10:00am. The hospice says they invite all in the community to come and tour the facility.

Located at 799 John Street, the hospice says once they open they will provide 24-hour palliative care services to the residents of Nipissing and East Parry Sound with its 10-bed facility.

The hospice says they can provide respite support for up to two weeks to give relief for caregivers. There will also individual rooms for the comfort of patients, as well as accommodations for family and friends. All the care provided by the hospice will be free for the patients, as well as their families.
